Savings Pocket: Goals

At the core of Bliss exists the Goal Library, which powers some of Bliss’s most innovative savings features.

At the core of Bliss exists the Goal Library, which powers some of Bliss’s most innovative savings features. The Goal Library is a collection of savings goals that help you not only approximate the cost of a savings goal but also have actionable information surrounding your goals.

Within Bliss, there are four distinct categories of goals from which you can select. They are:

Red Circle Body Goals: These goals focus on the vessel of your soul, your body. Here, you’ll find goals specific to body augmentation, appearance changes, and other endeavors that help affirm who you are and can influence how people see you visually and how you feel about yourself. Whether it’s getting a tattoo, cosmetic or affirming surgery, or a new wardrobe, Body goals can help you become who you are through the senses of sight and touch.

Blue Circle Mind Goals: As the name suggests, these goals are about enhancing, rehabilitating, and nourishing your mind. Goals within this section can include therapy (EMDR, CBT, DBT, etc.), learning a new skill through study or experience, or even learning yoga. Mind Goals include legally changing your name, getting a passport, or purchasing a stuffed animal. These goals have been designed to help bring peace, serenity, acuity, and clarity to all in your mind.

Yellow Circle Soul Goals: Bliss’ marquee category of goals invokes experiences that nourish and awaken the soul. These goals are centered around the adventures, endeavors, and comforts that bring you joy, relief, or even catharsis. Soul goals are our most expansive category, including goals like taking a vacation to Malta, moving into a new home, going to an aquarium, or learning to play an instrument. Whether you know your passions or are still seeking to find your spark, Soul Goals are there to help you find more and more moments of Bliss.

⚪️ Custom Goals: While the Goal Library is ever-expanding, you might want to enter your own custom goals. Within Bliss, you can create your own goals that can still experience the TimeBack feature (more on this later).

Your savings goals, big and small, matter. Bliss is here to help you reach them as fast as possible.

Below is a Tutorial:
To add your first savings goal, you’ll want to
1. Tap on the SAVE button on the Home Screen.
2. Then, you’ll want to tap on the GOALS section.
3. Next, you’ll want to tap on the ADD GOALS button and select your goal category.

4. If you’ve selected the Body, Mind, or Soul category, you can browse a list of available goals. If you see a goal you want to add to your savings list, tap on the goal name.
5. Within each goal, you can see a Cost Estimation (which includes a low, average, and high estimate) and a section of additional information that contains actionable and relevant information to that goal. Tap the ADD TO MY LIST button to add this goal to your list.
6. Afterwards, you’ll want to confirm the savings amount (you can change this if you have a specific or more accurate amount), and then you can tap the Add Goal button to confirm the addition.

Once you’ve created your savings goals, you’ll be able to browse them and see associated progress bars with each goal. The progress bars represent the total amount in your Savings Pocket, and you can tap on the amounts to switch to an alternative view that shows you an approximate timeline (measured in months) for when you’ll reach this savings goal based on your most recent 30 days of savings pocket transaction activity.

Once you have enough money in your Savings Pocket to reach a goal, you’ll get a celebratory push notification from Bliss. From there, you tap on the goal in your list, transfer the funds into your Spending Pocket to make your purchase, and remove the goal from your list.
We will regularly update and expand the Goal Library, and you are always welcome to suggest additional goals.

Last but certainly not least, knowing that the Goal Library is filtered by content is essential. During onboarding, you likely selected a set of pronouns and a purpose when joining the app. If you select She/Her or He/Him pronouns, Bliss will filter the available goals to be maximally affirming. Whereas, if you selected They/Them, Rolling pronouns, or entered your own, you’ll see all available goals within Bliss to maximize your agency.

If you select a purpose, you’ll see a slight filtration of goals based on your user type. Those who selected “General Use” will see all available Purpose goals.

Whew! That was a lot! If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading!
