Can I open an account with a name other than my legal name?

Yes.

During Bliss's onboarding, the app will ask you for your name. This is the name that Bliss will use when speaking to you and the name our Customer Advocates use.

Bliss will require your legal name for compliance and security purposes during onboarding, but that information will not be referenced after the account has been opened. Your legal name will appear on the Bank Statements, Brokerage Statements, & Tax Documents that are available to view only inside of the app.

You can also get a Bliss Card with any* name printed on it. This can be your first name, full name, legal name, or a name that isn't associated with the app.

*Special characters, numbers, or symbols are not allowed. 25-character limit. Obscene or irreverent names requested on cards will be rejected on a case-by-case basis.

We're here to support you during your journey. If you want to update the legal name associated with your Bliss account, all you need to do is share a Court Ordered Legal Name Change with our Customer Service Advocates at  hello@bliss.lgbt
